About Reingold

Reingold is a full-service marketing and creative firm in Alexandria, VA. For more than 40 years, we’ve been driven by a simple mission: to help organizations –– whether in the government, nonprofit, or business sector –– as they strive to make the world a better place. We hire top-notch talent to develop and launch compelling, inventive communications campaigns, leveraging the latest technology and digital media strategies that enable our clients to meet their audiences where they are.

That's where you come in. As a compliance intern, you will work alongside our Vice President of Compliance to help grow Reingold’s compliance department. You’ll play a key role in helping to decide how the firm identifies risk, sets priorities, manages its contracts, and meets its obligations across federal, state, and commercial work.

You’ll take ownership of real projects with real outcomes. You’ll play a central role in how Reingold manages its diverse contract portfolio in partnership with our finance, legal, and program management teams. You’ll help to set up new engagements, track renewals and modifications, and maintain an accurate record for a large volume of contracts. You’ll also build the process for Reingold’s first in-house ISO 9001 internal audit, and design tools and resources that employees across the firm will rely on. Your research and recommendations will directly inform how Reingold responds to evolving laws, regulations, and contract requirements, and you’ll gain hands-on experience in contract administration and government contracting.

This role is a great fit for someone interested in compliance, law, government contracting, risk management, and business operations. It suits someone who enjoys solving problems and bringing structure to ambiguity, and who wants to see the impact of their work.

Internships at Reingold are full-time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20. The internship class begins on Thursday, January 7, 2027, and runs through Friday, May 28, 2027. Core hours during the internship are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. This internship requires five in-office days (Monday – Friday) at our office in Alexandria, Virginia.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Help shape the compliance program. Work directly with the VP of Compliance to assess risks, map current processes, identify gaps, and recommend priorities as the department grows. Participate in ongoing planning discussions and contribute ideas for how the program should evolve.
  • Build the ISO 9001 internal audit process. Develop the internal audit matrix and supporting procedures for Reingold’s first in-house internal audit and document departmental processes for the firm’s Quality Management System.
  • Create compliance resources for the firm. Develop content and resources, and document policies and best practices, for the firm’s Compliance intranet page.
  • Contract administration and management. Set up new contracts and project codes in Sage, and keep the firm’s Monday.com engagement tracker accurate and up to date. Collaborate with program managers on contracts without an executed agreement, and start renewal conversations at least 30 days before a contract expires.
  • Support regulatory reporting. Help track and prepare monthly and quarterly reports for federal and state agencies, making sure deadlines are met and documentation is complete.
  • Conduct research and analysis. Research questions about policy, compliance, and ethics as they come up. Monitor changes to laws, regulations, and contract requirements, and summarize findings with recommendations for how Reingold should adjust.

A Reingold intern must:
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Build and follow timelines and meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess a collaborative, team-player attitude.
  • Be eager to learn by doing and take initiative.
  • Be able to receive and incorporate peer feedback.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Interest in compliance, law, government contracting, or risk management; coursework in business, public policy, pre-law, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with contracts, data, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage several projects at once, and bring structure to new processes.
